A former St. Louis news anchor will be in court Monday morning to learn her sentence for the murder of her mother in south Wichita. In August, Angelynn Mock pleaded guilty in the case in which she was charged with one count of first-degree murder in the Oct. 31, 2025 death of 80-year-old Anita Avers. According to a probable cause affidavit, Mock's stepfather told police that the 48-year-old woman had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which was later revised to schizoaffective disorder. In July, a Sedgwick County District Court judge found Mock competent to stand trial and reversed an earlier ruling. Mock's guilty plea carries a presumptive sentence of life in prison without eligibility for parole for 25 years. #firstalert4 #crimewatchstlouis
