Robach and Holmes' months-long workplace romance was revealed in November 2022, when they were both married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, respectively. Shue and Fiebig have since begun dating each other.

The bombshell affair led to the pair's exit from ABC in January 2023, with a network spokesperson telling Page Six at the time that it was best for everyone that the co-hosts-turned-lovers move on from the network.

Robach and Holmes continued their relationship following their respective oustings, eventually announcing their engagement on their Amy T.J. podcast in October 2025.

We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged, and we've been engaged for just about a month now, Robach said at the time.

Holmes added, We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to. We've learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship.

The former CNN correspondent noted that his fiancée had been publicly wearing her engagement ring in crowds of tens of thousands of people, adding that nobody said a word.
