Watch : Michael Douglas Confesses to Affair With Kathleen Turner After Decades of Rumors

Kathleen Turner is well aware that she and Michael Douglas had a fatal attraction.

After the Wall Street actor revealed in his upcoming memoir One Helluva Ride that he and the Body Heat actress had an affair while filming their 1984 film Romancing the Stone, Turner spoke out about the confession.

 Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago!  Turner, 72, told People in an Oct. 2 statement.  I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book. 

In the memoir, Douglas-who was separated but still legally married to Diandra Luker at the time-revealed that he and Turner had an affair while filming the 1980s blockbuster in Mexico, though they denied romance rumors for years.

 The truth is that during the production of Romancing the Stone, Kathleen and I fell hard for each other and began a relationship,  he wrote in the book, which hits shelves Oct 6, according to an excerpt published by People.  It wasn't a fly-by night affair; it grew naturally from how closely we were working together, how much pressure we were under, how much we respected and cared for one another, and how attracted we were to each other.
