Family of Sa'marian Aranda Sa'marian Aranda First responders took Aranda to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his back, but he later died. A 16-year-old arrested is being treated for a torso gunshot wound and is expected to survive. This senseless act of violence has impacted many lives, and we extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected as they navigate this difficult and heartbreaking time, Racine Sgt. Alicia Mitchell said in a news release. Family said this is the second child they've lost this year. Their daughter, Sandra Aranda, died while trying to save her siblings in a house fire back in February. Papi was a loving son, brother, family member, and friend who was simply trying to navigate life and find his way. This past year had already brought him unimaginable heartbreak after losing his sister in a devastating house fire in February. He was still learning how to cope with the pain of losing her when his own life was tragically cut short, the family wrote on their GoFundMe. No family should have to experience this much loss in such a short amount of time. We are now trying to come together, support one another, and give Papi the proper homegoing and final goodbye that he deserves.
