The Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Department of Health Services are launching a statewide partnership to prevent domestic violence and connect survivors with resources. It is the first partnership between the Bucks and DHS focused on domestic violence. Fiserv Forum President Josh Glessing said the organization plans to support the effort long term. We're proud to stand alongside the governor, DHS, community partners today and in the indefinite future, Glessing said. DHS Secretary Kirsten Johnson emphasized that domestic violence can affect entire families. There's a ripple effect to domestic violence, Johnson said. Children who grow up in violent households can't focus on being kids or becoming healthy adults. The announcement coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. Earlier this year, Gov. Tony Evers' administration announced a $200,000 investment in the Real Love Is Respect campaign. Anyone experiencing domestic violence can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233. The hotline is available 24 hours a day. #wisn #crimewatchmilwaukee
