Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting in the city's Uptown neighborhood early Friday morning.

Officers were called to the area near North 49th Street and West Meinecke Avenue, about a block from Milwaukee Police District 3.


A 12 News crew saw a large police presence at the intersection around 3 a.m. Several evidence markers were visible in the street, and the intersection was blocked off as officers investigated.

Police have not yet released information about possible injuries, arrests or what led up to the shooting.
