Watch NBC6 free wherever you are WATCH HERE WATCH HERE Police said that over a seven-weeklong investigation, detectives reviewed 70 hours of surveillance, warrants, and were able to observe 23 controlled narcotic purchase transactions. Due to resident concerns, authorities targeted two locations: Jimmy's Supermarket and the Lauderhill Gardens Townhomes community. Both locations have been on our radar for an extended period of time due to documented concerns regarding ongoing illegal activity, Lauderhill Police Chief Constance Stanley said. During their investigation, detectives documented narcotics transactions both in and out of Jimmy's Supermarket, and the drugs were found inside store merchandise and were easily accessible during store hours. In turn, 14 people were arrested, with all of them being sellers of narcotics. Two of them were store employees. Investigators said they obtained baggies of cocaine, crack cocaine, cannabis, flakka and more, which amounted to more than 118 grams total. Charges for those involved relate to the selling, purchasing, possession and delivery of narcotics. We are hopeful that we disrupted the majority of them, but I'm sure there's still more out there, said Sergeant Edward McCormick, supervisor of the street enforcement team. And that's where the Lauderhill Street Enforcement Team is continuing to work on those ongoing investigations. NBC6 visited Jimmy's Supermarket, but the manager did not want to speak. Investigators told NBC6 that the store will be going in front of a magistrate to see if they can still hold their license. #nbcmiami #crimewatchmiami
