A month after a man was caught on surveillance video stealing mail from an apartment complex in West Miami-Dade, he was arrested on Wednesday, authorities said. David Armeda, 38, was charged with criminal mischief and removing mail from a depo or a carrier. Watch NBC6 free wherever you are WATCH HERE WATCH HERE According to authorities, on July 31, Armeda was seen on surveillance video riding his bike into the parking lot of the Parkside of Fontainebleau apartment complex on Fontainebleau Boulevard. Moments later, he's seen in front of the community mailboxes. He looks over his shoulder, takes a few seconds to try and yank open the mailbox panel, and then he opens it. Armeda was then seen stuffing mail into a bag and riding away. Authorities said the damage to the mailbox was about $28,125. A month later, authorities found Armeda at a Macy's in Miami. When they searched him, they found several stolen credit cards with different names. When they tried to question him, Armeda couldn't because he was on meth, authorities said.
