Watch NBC6 free wherever you are WATCH HERE WATCH HERE According to Miami Springs Police, at around 7 a.m., a resident saw on her doorbell camera Timms walking through her driveway and started pulling on the door handles of vehicles that were parked. Police said the resident then called 911, and officers arrived at the area of the 300 block of Pinecrest Drive, where they found Timms. When I saw that in the video, that it wasn't my husband, it was somebody else that we didn't know, I was scared, Yuliet Rivera said. As officers investigated the incident, they learned that Timms was staying at a hotel on Northwest 36th Street and went into the residential area, where he tried to burglarize vehicles. He was wandering around, looking a little suspicious, said Miami Police Deputy Chief Albert Vargas. An officer made contact with him just as a proactive approach to talk to him and identify him. But without probable cause to detain him, officers let him go. Less than 24 hours later, police said Timms was seen on surveillance attempting to break into cars. Rivera was thankful that her doorbell camera captured it all. He got the wrong place! she said. He got the wrong place! Deputy Chief Vargas said residents shouldn't worry. If they're coming through our residential area and coming to burglarize vehicles or burglarize homes or commit any type of crime, we will bring them to justice, he said. #nbcmiami #crimewatchmiami
