(WMC) - A Shelby County jury found a man guilty of second-degree murder in the 2023 deadly shooting at a Cordova bar, according to the District Attorney's Office. After a weeklong trial, the jury found Jimmari Sykes guilty in the shooting death of Jonathan Farris. Jimmari Sykes (SCSO) The case stems from an Oct. 8, 2023 shooting in the parking lot in front of Xperience Kitchen Cocktails on Germantown Parkway. Memphis Police officers responded to the scene at around 1:50 a.m. and found Farris suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Regional One Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to the investigation, witnesses told police that the parking lot was crowded after a nearby club had let out. Investigators later identified Sykes as a suspect, and multiple witnesses identified him in photographic lineups. Sykes' sentencing date will be announced at a later date.
