(WMC) - A Crittenden County jury has convicted a man on charges of trafficking a minor, according to the West Memphis Department. Darnell Jones was convicted in Crittenden County after evidence was presented in court. Officials credited the testimony of Lieutenant Matthew McKee of the West Memphis Police Department, the Crittenden County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Jonesboro Police Department for uncovering the digital evidence through phone extraction, and the Crittenden County Child Advocacy Center. Jones was sentenced to 10 years in prison without parole, 5 years of post-release supervision, and he must register as a sex offender upon release. This case is an excellent example of what can be accomplished when law enforcement, prosecutors, and our community partners work together. We appreciate everyone who helped bring this case to a successful conclusion and ensure accountability for the offense, the West Memphis Police Department said in a post.
