Prosecutors said the Mercedes-Benz was traveling more than 100 mph in the 35 mph zone as it struck the rear quarter of an SUV, triggering the fiery chain-reaction crash. The dead included a 23-year-old pregnant woman, Asherey Ryan, her 11-month-old son Alonzo Quintero, fiancé Reynold Lester and her unborn baby, whom the couple planned to name Armani Lester. They were on the way to a prenatal medical appointment. Also killed in the crash were Nathesia Lewis, 43, and her friend, 38-year-old Lynette Noble, who were in another car. Eight people were injured. During closing arguments, prosecutors argued the tragic chain of events was entirely preventable.
