Kirk Sides/Staff photographer A San Jacinto College student has been missing for more than a week since leaving campus in Pasadena on Sept. 23, according to state and local authorities. Police identified the missing student as 18-year-old Leilani Rodriguez and asked the public to help locate her this week. Rodriguez was last seen leaving campus on foot at around 12 p.m. on Sept. 23, and police tracked her to the south end of the Fred Hartman Bridge in La Porte before receiving no further phone signal, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety flyer that police shared. Rodriguez sent concerning text messages to her parents at about 1:40 p.m., roughly an hour and a half after she left campus, the flyer states. An absent subscriber message in response to campus police's most recent phone ping suggests her phone is no longer active, according to the flyer. Rodriguez has short brown hair and brown eyes, stands about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds, according to the San Jacinto College Police Department. She was last seen at the college's Pasadena campus with a purple Coraline shirt, black pants, black and white sneakers and a black hooded sweatshirt, police said. Anyone who sees Rodriguez should contact campus police. The public also can contact Investigator Eric Reyes at 281-476-1820, according to the DPS flyer.
