HOUSTON - A woman accused of shooting and killing her 4-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself Tuesday has died. The Houston Police Department says the 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a hospital on Wednesday. The woman had been hospitalized in critical condition. At the time, police said she was expected to survive. The shooting happened Tuesday on the third floor of a home located at 322 Terra Reserve Place. Officers responded and found the mother and child each suffering from a gunshot wound. The child died at the scene while the mother was transported to a hospital where she later died. On Wednesday, family members identified the child as Vivian Savella and said she was loved without limit . At the scene Tuesday, police said there had been a child custody hearing earlier in the day involving the mother and child.
