What to know: Police say a caregiver accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an 86-year-old Livonia woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon. Police said the woman could be formally charged as early as Wednesday. She has not been named because she had not yet been charged. The family says the caregiver allegedly took the woman's ATM card and made repeated $500 withdrawals, sometimes before and after her work shifts. The woman's daughter says the family found a long series of $500 withdrawals while checking the elderly woman's bank account. The family also says it found credit card transactions they believe were unauthorized, including purchases for the caregiver's own groceries and other items. The family says the caregiver had worked for the woman since July 2025 and became someone they trusted so much they considered her part of the family.
