HAZEL PARK, Mich. - A 20-year-old Hazel Park father was arrested for allegedly abusing his 4-week-old son. Police said the investigation began after officers responded to a home in Hazel Park during the evening hours of Oct. 1 for a report of a baby with a broken arm. When officers arrived at the home, they saw that a 4-week-old baby showed pain in the right shoulder and had bruising above the left eye. The baby was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police later learned from hospital staff that the baby had multiple fractures, including both arms, legs, and ribs. The injuries were at different stages of healing. In an interview with officers, the baby's father allegedly told them that he gets frustrated and cannot cope with the baby crying. He also allegedly told police that he took the baby into the bathroom and injured the baby's limbs. The father was arrested at the hospital. The baby remains hospitalized, and Child Protective Services was notified. He is expected to be arraigned in court on 1 p.m. on Oct. 5. #clickondetroit #CrimeInTheD ®
