A man suspected in a series of home burglaries, including of an 85-year-old in St. Paul's Highland Park, is under arrest. Less than an hour later, he was burglarizing a garage and trying to break into another vehicle. Then another caller: A man in a gray sweatshirt was attempting to break into a vehicle in the alley.' St. Paul police and the sheriff's office responded, and found the vehicle fleeing at a high rate of speed, the post continued. Then another burglary - this one on the 400 block of Macalester Street. The suspect broke the victim's service door, then fled in the SUV. About 30 minutes later, a hit from a license-plate reader alerted the sheriff's office Carjacking and Auto Theft team that the suspect was in Minneapolis. So they did what CAT Teams do, according to the sheriff's office post. They found him. They followed him back to St. Paul and attempted to box him in with a VIT (Vehicle Interdiction Tactic) maneuver at Cleveland Avenue and Ford Parkway. He rammed another car and escaped. Another call soon after informed law enforcement that a man was dumping a vehicle in the 1100 block of Elway Street in St. Paul's West Seventh neighborhood. Law enforcement established a perimeter and used K-9s, but didn't find him. St. Paul officers were called at 4:25 p.m. to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1800 block of Ivan Way, also in the West Seventh neighborhood, said Alyssa Arcand, a police spokeswoman.
