Investigators say Ronnenbaum and Erickson shared explicit and sexually abusive materials with one another and spoke about wanting to travel to Thailand to sexually abuse children together, according to court records.

Erickson reportedly shared a fantasy about having a relationship with a man where they would raise a child together that they would abuse and groom  from baby to adulthood.

Court documents show all four men spoke very casually and very vulgarly about their alleged fondness for sexually abusing very young children.

The FBI said at one point Erickson shared in messages that he knew a father of a 3-year-old boy who allegedly allows Erickson to sexually abuse him.

He also reportedly tried to convince another man to allow Erickson to bathe his children, and admitted to making plans to travel to the man's house to do so, officials said.

 Anyone who possess child sexual abuse material should expect severe consequences, and today, this sexual predator begins paying the price for his actions with more than 100 months in federal prison,  said Jennifer Runyan, special agent in charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, in a statement.  I am grateful for the relentless work of our FBI Detroit Crimes Against Children Squad and our task force officers from the Detroit Police Department for aggressively pursuing those who victimize children and helping to hold them accountable. 

As part of his sentence, Erickson will also be required to register as a sex offender.
