PONTIAC, Mich. - A man convicted of killing two people during a dice game in Pontiac will spend the rest of his life in prison, officials said. Davonte Demetri Franklin, 34, was found guilty by a jury in July of two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the killings. Prosecutors said Franklin shot and killed the two men after losing $80 during the dice game. Authorities said Franklin attempted to muffle the sound of the gunshots with a potato, but witnesses still reported hearing the shots. Franklin was convicted following a jury trial and was sentenced to life in prison, according to officials.
