ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man already in jail accused of hiding in a woman's backseat and kidnapping her in St. Louis County is now facing an attempted rape charge in St. Louis City.

St. Louis City prosecutors charged 33-year-old Lamont T. Wilson on Monday with first-degree attempted rape, kidnapping, third-degree assault and first-degree harassment. Last week, Wilson was charged by St. Louis County prosecutors with kidnapping and armed criminal action in a separate case.

According to St. Louis City police, in December 2025, Wilson grabbed an employee of a Central West End gas station from behind as she was walking to her car after closing the store. Police say Wilson then pulled the woman behind her car, where he held her for several minutes.

The woman told investigators she offered to open the store to let him take money or merchandise, but she said he told her,  I want sex.  Police then say Wilson attempted to pull off the victim's clothing.

The victim then started screaming for help. Police say Wilson then punched the victim in the face and threatened to kill her before eventually letting go and leaving the scene.

Investigators say the entire incident was caught on surveillance video. The victim told police she recognized Wilson as a regular at the store and identified him in a photo lineup.

Last week, St. Louis County prosecutors charged Wilson in a separate case, accusing him of climbing through a woman's trunk into her backseat and hiding there until she got in and began to drive away. St. Louis County police say Wilson was seen on surveillance footage getting into the woman's car.

As the victim drove away, prosecutors say Wilson waved what she thought was a gun and demanded money.

County police say this incident happened in February.

Wilson is in the St. Louis County jail being held on a $200,000 cash-only bond. A warrant issued against Wilson from the St. Louis City charges is requesting he be held without bond.
