A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that left an 18-year-old dead in the South Austin neighborhood Saturday. According to Chicago police, officers were called to a residence in the 4800 block of West Quincy at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person who had been shot. An eyewitness told police they heard a loud bang from inside the residence, and that the suspected shooter was still inside. A 17-year-old was placed into custody without incident, according to police, and a weapon was recovered. The victim in the shooting was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai, police said.
