ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Ballwin police are warning that they're aware of a planned teen takeover at Sky Zone.

Emily Wymore says she's been to this Ballwin Sky Zone with her family dozens of times, and when told about a planned teen takeover at that location:

 It got out of control on weekend nights, just kids coming, not actually buying tickets, just coming here and hanging out,  said Wymore.

Ballwin police say a social media flyer was circulating calling for a takeover of the Sky Zone on Friday.

Police also shared that Sky Zone requires a parent to be present for anybody 16 years old and younger. Wymore says before that rule it was fairly rowdy some nights.

 There's young people working here too, so to have them have to man was kind of a bummer,  said Wymore.

It's not exactly clear what time this teen takeover was set to happen on Friday, but Ballwin police say they'll be around.

Back in November of last year, a group of teens caused chaos inside and outside the Ballwin Sky Zone, with one even shooting a gun.

And then at the Shrewsbury Sky Zone a few weeks ago, First Alert 4 cameras saw hundreds of teens in the parking lot after they were not let in to a planned event. One girl was even found with a knife.

 They are harmless until they are not. Down right, they just create unsafe conditions,  said SLMPD spokesperson Mitch McCoy.

And the city of St. Louis has had teen takeover issues in the past as it's part of a national trend, and St. Louis police say they're aware of three planned teen takeovers for Saturday in and around the city, including at the Forest Park basketball courts.

He says an array of officers will be ready to thwart any takeover.

 Do not participate in an unauthorized teen takeover, it is dangerous and it can create mayhem and it can create chaos, especially when you start talking hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of kids,  said McCoy.

Police spokesman Mitch McCoy says parents need be more engaged with their children this weekend and to know where their kids are.
