MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Millersville City Commissioner is behind bars in Sumner County after being accused of perpetrating sex crimes against multiple children for decades, according to records obtained by WSMV4.

David Gregory, 76, is charged with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and seven counts of aggravated sexual battery. He's behind bars on a bond of $750,000, per a bench warrant presentment.

Gregory is an active commissioner for the City of Millersville. WSMV4 has not heard back from the mayor or fellow commissioners when asking about his future in office.

A copy of an indictment sent to a grand jury alleges that the commissioner has sexually abused at least three children over a span of decades, dating back to 1987 and most recently in 2026.

The abuse allegedly happened at least three times, and included aggravated sexual battery at least three times, per the indictment.

Six of the aggravated sexual batteries allegedly happened between 2024 and 2026 in Sumner County and involved a child or children under the age of 13. The seventh included the same parameters, but allegedly happened between 2025 and 2026.

Two minors were among the seven people summoned to testify before the grand jury as state witnesses, the court documents say.

WSMV4 has reached out to the rest of the commission, the Sumner County Sheriff's Office and the Millersville Police Department for more information.

 As a government official where the alleged events occurred, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on this case,  Commissioner Dustin Darnall wrote to WSMV4.  I have full confidence in those investigating these events. I also have full faith in our judicial system. No one is above the law. 

Darnall later added to his statement, saying:
