ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta police said they've opened a misconduct investigation after officers were seen on video shoving and tackling a man near a planned event for a popular streamer this week.

On Tuesday, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat planned to host auditions for his  Streamer University  program in the Summerhill neighborhood, near Hank Aaron Drive.

People showed up as early as Monday, leading to chaotic crowds and seven arrests, according to Atlanta police.

Cenat postponed the event until Wednesday and moved it to State Farm Arena after multiple host venues reportedly backed out and police deterred guests from arriving.

At least one person was arrested on Wednesday for straying into the road, according to Atlanta police.

On Thursday, the Atlanta Police Department said they've opened a misconduct investigation after video was posted on social media showing officers shoving and tackling a man in Summerhill.

In the video, the man faces several officers in the middle of the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Glenn Street.

Several officers shove the man, at one point knocking him to the ground. The man gets up, and officers tackle him to the sidewalk.

 We are aware of the concerns raised in the video and want to assure the public that the Atlanta Police Department's Office of Professional Standards (OPS) has opened an investigation into this incident,  the police department said in a comment under the video.

The department said it  takes all concerns regarding officer conduct and public safety seriously  and  the matter has been referred to OPS for a thorough and impartial review. 

Police added that  any appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of that investigation. 

In a separate statement, police said the incident happened Monday.
