(Atlanta News First) - Atlanta police said they are investigating a video of alleged officer misconduct near a planned event hosted by a popular streamer this week. On Tuesday, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat planned to host auditions for his Streamer University program in the Summerhill neighborhood, near Hank Aaron Drive. People from showing up as early as Monday, leading to chaotic crowds and seven arrests, according to Atlanta police. Summerhill police presence ahead of Kai Cenat event (Cee Mar) Cenat postponed the event until Wednesday and moved it to State Farm Arena after multiple host venues reportedly backed out and police deterred guests from arriving. At least one person was arrested on Wednesday for straying into the road, according to Atlanta police. Multiple videos circulating online from Monday show arrests of attendees who arrived early for Cenat's event, including one that shows several officers surrounding a person lying on the sidewalk. Police have not said which video they are investigating or provided further details on why the video prompted an investigation. We are aware of the concerns raised in the June 15, 2026 video and want to assure the public that the Atlanta Police Department's Office of Professional Standards (OPS) has opened an investigation into this incident, the department said in the announcement. The department said it takes all concerns regarding officer conduct and public safety seriously and the matter has been referred to OPS for a thorough and impartial review.
