A Miami Beach Police officer was hospitalized after a crash Wednesday, officials said.

The crash happened at the intersection of 9th Street and Meridian Avenue, Miami Beach Police officials said.

Paramedics transported the officer to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, officials said.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
