Two teens have been charged with gun possession in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Times Square in the hours after the Knicks won the NBA championship, police said Monday.

Carmelo Rodriguez, 18, and a 17-year-old boy whose name was not released because he is underage are both charged with gun possession.

Police said Rodriguez's 9mm pistol was equipped with an extended magazine. The court complaint against him says the gun was loaded with 23 bullets.

Rodriguez lives in Harlem, according to cops. He was ordered held without bail when he was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court later on Sunday.

The suspects were taken into custody shortly after the victim was shot in the foot about 2 a.m. Sunday at W. 42nd St, and Broadway, police said. The shooter is still being sought.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital by police because the thousands gathered in the streets made ambulance access difficult. He lives in Staten Island, according to a police source, and is expected to recover.

The mayhem saw scores of arrests, five school buses vandalized or set afire and multiple NYPD cops assaulted.
