The tiny upstate town known for hosting Woodstock '94 was left reeling after a 15-year-old boy was charged with the grisly murder of a local woman found dead in an abandoned house - as cops keep details on the case close to the vest.

Police in Saugerties, a sleepy Ulster County community with a population of about 19,000, discovered the victim's body shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday inside the remote home, and later charged the teen with second-degree murder - but have released few details regarding the unsettling crime, the department said.

 It's a quiet area,  one local resident told News12.  You don't expect something like this.

Neighbors told the outlet that the victim was an adult woman, and was often seen walking or jogging in the area. They said the overgrown house where she was found had been vacant for about a year.

 Very unsettling what's happened here,  another local said.  And it's very concerning being that I live three miles away. 

News10 reported that the teen turned himself in after the body was discovered.

Saugerties police told The Post Wednesday that the name of both the victim and the accused teen killer are not being released while the investigation continues with the assistance of New York State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.

According to police, the teenager was arraigned in the youth part of Town of Saugerties Justice Court and ordered held without bail  in a secure facility.
