After a perimeter was established, detectives found a dark shirt and a dark hat in a dumpster that matched what West was wearing when he was in the bar. His sandals were also found.

West was eventually found, and he was detained, the report said.

After the victim died, detectives reviewed his injuries and determined that there was probable cause to arrest West.

He was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
