Add Us On Google Add as a preferred source on Google ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta police said they arrested a man in connection with a homicide in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. On June 24, officers responded to a call about a person down on the 700 block of Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, where they found an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk. Atlanta Fire and Grady EMS soon arrived and pronounced the man dead. Police identified him in a press release as Mr. Webb. Police said at the time that no signs of foul play were observed, but the Fulton County Medical Examiner would conduct an autopsy to determine Webb's cause and manner of death. On Tuesday afternoon, Atlanta police said they arrested 28-year-old Lonnie Carswell on an outstanding murder warrant in connection with the homicide. Police said they took Carswell into custody at a home on McWilliams Road in southeast Atlanta, with help from the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, earlier in the day. Carswell was booked at the Fulton County Jail on charges of murder, aggravated assault and a probation violation, according to jail records.
