COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A Lyft passenger is facing criminal charges, accused of sexually assaulting his driver. Officers were first called to the Marietta Diner about an unruly customer who refused to leave, but investigators say the situation quickly escalated into something far more serious, Channel 2's Michael Seiden learned. Police said it couldn't have ended stranger if you had written a script for a movie, LIVE on Channel 2 at 5:00 p.m. He reiterated multiple times that he had a firearm, causing her to be concerned for her own safety. During that ride, he would reach forward in an attempt to fondle her physically, as well as make other statements that made her incredibly uncomfortable, said Public Information Officer Chuck McPhilamy, Marietta Police. Police say the driver was too afraid to call 911 while the suspect was still inside her car.
